Mission Statement

The One Shot Exhibition is a group show of young and inspiring architects & designers from different backgrounds who will tackle the means of diversity, social and cultural boundaries, technological research, sustainability, and urban/regional planning that will serve communities for the future. It is social experiment combining with technology and information that will increase awareness, involvement and participation of this adventure.

Much of the proposals and designs are areas in and around Los Angeles that are significant in redefining communities in order to bring a sense of community. Part of choosing Los Angeles as a ground for the proposal is Los Angeles has reached its critical stage in affordable housing, population, traffic, the environment, wildlife protection and cultural integration along with other cities, towns and countries influenced by suburbanization and globalization that are effecting us. There is a need to shift beyond personal rewards and move towards a new direction that will embrace communities in a multicultural level. It is collective body of work involving a diverse & distinct group of designers, builders, thinkers and the general public.

The exhibition will consist a multi-media event that will chronologically informs the viewer the direction prior to the opening of the exhibit by creating a website for information and communication use. This site will have blogs that are documentary to the nature of this event and will depict the situation we are living now and towards the future. It is unknown to predict the outcome but the possibilities are unlimited.

The exhibit itself will be selected works by Architects and Designers on a variety of mediums, ranging from sketches, models, computer modeling, drawings, full-scale mock-ups, artworks and renderings. The site for the exhibit has yet to be determined. It will be determined by the availability, suitability and appropriateness of the site and exhibit. The exhibit will occur in the Fall/ 2008.

One Shot Exhibition is a social experimentation that will not only come up with new design proposals for the future but an ever increasing public awareness to rethink and reprioritize our daily routines to live sustainable lives. The evolving state of society and the global climate are at its critical stage. There is a need of a proactive approach on issues of bringing to focus on the future’s fate. The time is now.
